Who Are the Brides of Christ?
When I was a new believer, I was taught that when you accept the Lord Jesus Christ, automatically, you are considered as a bride of Christ. But as I study the Word of God and get to know Him more, I found out that this belief was incorrect. I understood that every believer has a different level of faith and intimacy with the Lord. The Holy Spirit revealed to me that in order to become a bride of Christ, one must have a deep level of intimacy, commitment and obedience to the Lord.
The highest calling in life is to become a bride of our Lord Jesus Christ. This revelation is not pertaining to only women in ministry, but it is a calling to all lovers of the Lord Jesus Christ. This revelation is not only for women but for all of us who were created in the image of God. And this revelation really means having a very intimate loving relation with our Lord Jesus Christ. I am being led to write this post so the readers will be able to know why we should desire to become brides of Christ.
Being a bride of Christ is a deep level of intimacy with the Lord. I would like to inform you that this requires sacrifices. It requires selfless acts that will show our love and commitment to the Lord. It is not only saying that we love the Lord, but we prove our love in our actions as well. A true lover will do everything to the extent of his /her ability to prove that his/her love is true.
1 John 3:18
“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
Sadly, most Christians in this present generation do not know the meaning of Dying to self. The Word of God says that this present generation will become lovers of themselves. If we open our eyes we will see that this prophecy is true and it is already happening. But God will raise up His brides! He is now revealing His brides to the world! He will raise up brides that are not afraid to die to self and sacrifice. He will raise up brides to proclaim His message of love to this dying world. He will call His warrior brides to become light in the darkness! His brides will be like David who will be after His own heart. They will have a heart of courage and strength to defend and fight for those they love. His brides will be like a mighty army full of courage and strength!
The brides of our Lord Jesus Christ will have a burning heart for to proclaim His message to all. They are those who have denied themselves and carried their own crosses. His brides are those who had accepted death to self and embraced a life fully yielded to God. Let us desire to love our Lord Jesus more than our lives and they will be so focused and determined to fulfill their tasks from their bridegroom our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 19:7-9
“Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.”
God is calling us to become brides of our Lord Jesus Christ. This should be our number one priority in life. But sadly, not every Christian will become brides of Christ. Only those who had made themselves ready and prepared will be considered as brides. The Word of God tells us that many were called but few were chosen. This verse means that all of us are called for a deep level of intimacy with the Lord.
But not all will answer this calling. I am praying that all of us will see the importance of this invitation and desire this revelation. Again, we are invited to a deep level of intimacy with God. The wedding of the Lamb of God and His bride will take place soon. God is calling this current generation to prepare! Brides of Christ rise up! Be ready!
