Covering and Protection in the Presence of God
While we are in this world we have to accept the fact that we will encounter trouble. We will all encounter challenges and trials while we are in this world. But it is also true in the Word of God that God has given us the power to overcome. It is also true in the Word of God that if we are in the presence of God, we can be covered and protected from the attacks of the enemy. If we read the bible, we will see that there are a lot of examples from the Old Testament and New Testament saints about overcoming great trials and troubles by their faith in God. By reading the books in the bible, we will also know that there are people who were protected and covered from the attacks of the enemy by the presence of God. Surely, in the presence of the Lord there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 3:17
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
Psalm 91 says that there is a secret place free from attacks of the enemy. And those who dwell in the secret place of the most high will abide under the shadow of the Almighty. When our Lord Jesus Christ walk this earth, He demonstrated this truth by being protected from the attacks of the enemy until the time that He must fulfill His mission by dying on the cross. Many had tried to attack and even put Him to death, but our Lord was able to escape all of their attempts. Our Lord had demonstrated the power of the Kingdom by healing all kinds of sickness and disease. Our Lord showed us how our Heavenly Father can cover and protect us from the enemy by dwelling in the secret place which is in the presence of God. How do we enter this place? It is very simple. It starts with our desire.
The Lord has given us a choice to either choose Him or choose the enemy. If we decide to choose God, we must now desire to find Him and we will surely find God if we search for Him with all our heart. God is never far away from us. And in His embrace we can be covered and protected from all attacks of the enemy such as sickness, poverty, rejection, temptation etc. To be able to stay in the presence of God, we must desire to know and love God. The bible has the information for us. His Holy Spirit will guide us and reveal God to us. As we go deeper in our knowledge with God, we will also be empowered to demonstrate the power of God’s Kingdom. In all our troubles, we have to know and accept that we are given power to overcome!
Psalm 23:1
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Our Father God in Heaven desires that all of His children become successful and demonstrate the power of His Kingdom. In God we will surely lack nothing. It is true that the devil will try and try to attack and harm us and in some situation he may succeed. But the Word of God says that our Lord has overcome this world and through our Lord Jesus Christ we are forever victorious! Even if we fall at times, God’s presence will empower us to stand up and continue our walk with God. Let us meditate on this fact until God’s word is deep in our hearts. Then we will know the truth about God’s covering presence and the power that He has given us to overcome! Let us desire to commune with God so we can live in the shelter of His presence. In Him there is no darkness and there is no harm.
Deuteronomy 33:27
“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, 'Destroy them!'”
God is continually inviting us to stay in His presence. It is a great privilege that all of us in Christ were allowed to enter His presence with boldness and confidence. Let us not waste this great opportunity and come to God now. He loves us all so much and underneath His everlasting arms we will always succeed and we will be forever safe.
